picking up the pace around here! from my first and perhaps only time on the southern shores of the north sea.
travel
3 hours in rome
i had 3 hours in rome and managed to see a lot of the “greatest hits”, including this one.
another post, another rando european beach
i was on a quick work trip in “amsterdam” which was actually in a suburb maybe 30 minutes away from the city center. it was my first time on the shores of the north sea.
i always come and go, but it's out of my control
i did a double take when i thought i saw post malone busking in athens
for alberto
i was (briefly) in italy for work; the factory was near the adriatic beach town of san benedetto. it was the offseason but it was nice, as were my coworkers.
the REAL rome
trying to keep things simple. walked around rome for a couple hours, snapped some pics.
still alive!
and still going places! i returned to the vatican recently, just long enough to stroll through the gift shop.
one of y'all
every single of of y’all, Colorado, Arkansas, missisippi, Wichita (mountains), i’m right there with you. i’m still surprised at how fruitful my short time in central OK was, in terms of photography and eating down home cooking.
new year, new post
west yellowstone
just west of yellowstone, somewhere in idaho
silver status
in late 2019, i flew to denver to preserve my silver frequent flyer status (the lowest status you can have). now i look back at that trip as one symbol of what i’ve missed out on in these “during” times. i thought nothing of hopping on a plane almost on a whim and being back in my own home less than 24 hours later. these days, on my gov’t approved walks through the woods, i’m happy to see 3 or 4 deer. on a random morning just outside of denver, with no planning, i saw this huge herd of elk. i was so fortunate and couldn’t fully appreciate it until now.
baby alpaca
baby alpacas in windham county, VT? it doesn’t get any better than this!
deception pass
very fond memories of this place, it’s not exactly a secret that i love the washington coast!
you make me wanna
this post’s title is a very oblique reference to the song “cruise” by florida georgia line, beause this was taken on a cruise. a very short cruise, with the goal of seeing whales and dolphins off the coast of san diego about 3 weeks ago. didn’t see any marine mammals, but we did catch this really nice sunset.
capeesh?
full house pilgrimmage complete!
colorado
this isn’t in colorado, but being here reminded me of the florida georgia line song of the same name, since that song references the great smoky mountains in tennessee. i snapped this on the tennessee side of the TN/north carolina border.
the emerald city
i’d say seattle is the city/metro area i know 3rd best, behind MSP and San Diego. but i got to see it in a new way on a super fun boat cruise i went on back in 2018.
